Were I to cry aloud, I would imagine the sound purging my soul of its troubles. The scream, the sob, the moan, the whimper, the shriek, the yell, the song, the breath. I imagine they might satisfy if only loud enough. As to the truth of this hope, I could not say. A child of my age is never alone enough to voice frustrations in a state of complete solitary. And yet, I am of an age too old to yell among company. Questions, unwelcome, would stem from such an action. I envy the children who strain the vocals in expression as they play.
